Work Environment\n

This position offers a fully remote work environment, enabling counselors to provide effective care in a flexible setting that promotes a healthy work-life balance. The telehealth format allows for innovative treatment approaches while connecting with clients across various geographical locations. Scheduled hours run from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend rotations to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms, utilizing standardized assessment tools and interviews.

• Collaboratively create individualized treatment plans that reflect the patient's unique circumstances, incorporating their preferences and therapeutic goals.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address symptoms and support patient growth.

• Provide consistent education and support to patients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment pathways, and self-care strategies to enhance recovery.

• Continuously monitor client progress, documenting changes and adjusting treatment plans proactively to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and comprehensive treatment plans.

• Remain current with the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments to continuously improve therapeutic practices.
\n
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in patient records, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
\n
• Engage in case consultations and participate actively in team meetings to share insights and improve treatment approaches.
\n
• Advocate for patients’ mental health needs, working towards de-stigmatizing mood disorders and promoting mental health awareness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals struggling with mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related issues. You will work with diverse clients, tailoring treatment plans to address individual challenges and societal factors impacting their mental health. This includes understanding cultural, socioeconomic, and personal elements that contribute to their mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker - R Privilege (LCSW-R), Psychoanalyst, or Psychologist in New York State.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience with a focus on mood disorders is preferred.

• Demonstrated expertise in applying evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT and DBT in clinical settings.

• A track record of effectively achieving positive treatment outcomes for patients with mood disorders.
