Key Responsibilities\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Sevita, you will work primarily with clients suffering from mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. The diverse clientele we serve requires culturally competent counselors who can recognize and adapt to varied backgrounds and experiences, ensuring a respectful and empathetic treatment experience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.

• Proficiency with evidence-based treatment approaches specifically targeting mood disorders, including CBT and DBT.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively connect with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

• Understanding of psychopharmacology as it pertains to mood disorders, and the ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
