Community Disaster Program Specialist

Provide support to Disaster Program management and leadership within the Victoria, TX/Corpus Christi Region Support Disaster Program management and volunteer workforce, focusing on volunteer engagement and direct assistance to recurring local disasters such as home fires and floods Support specific functions at the direction of a regional functional manager when assigned Guide and support trained volunteers Implement initiatives to increase Red Cross visibility through program and service delivery Facilitate volunteer-led disaster cycle services programming and functional activities Assist with implementation of disaster cycle services program activities or functions Monitor, collect, and analyze business data to improve services Engage disaster volunteers representative of the communities they serve culturally and linguistically Support development of Disaster Leadership Volunteers for disaster readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery Participate in regional disaster response operations after completing training requirements Work daily in the assigned geographic area to engage and mobilize communities and support volunteers Deploy to disaster relief operations outside the region at least once a year Requirements Bachelor's degree required Minimum 3 years of experience with social services or service/program delivery, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required Current valid driver's license and good driving record required Ability to coordinate staff and volunteer activities Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to develop project plans and budgets Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Ability to work outside regular duty hours, including nights and weekends Employees must complete required training and meet physical capacity requirements for deployment Regional disaster employees are required to deploy outside their region at least once a year Must work daily in the assigned geographic area to engage and mobilize communities and support volunteers Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in disaster program management, volunteer engagement, and community mobilization, with a strong focus on service delivery and operational support.
