Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Part Time College Campus Patrol in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at an educational location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and support a welcoming environment. Pay Rate: $20.35 - $21.35 / Hour
Job Schedule:
DayTimeWed08:00 AM - 04:00 PMThur08:00 AM - 04:00 PMFri12:00 AM - 08:00 AMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
- Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
