National Account Manager

National Sales Assistant TEGNA Inc. (NYSE: TGNA) helps people thrive in their local communities by providing trusted local news and services. The National Sales Assistant supports Account Executives’ sales efforts by taking ownership of fulfillment so that the AE can focus on client‑facing work, creating opportunities and closing revenue. The Sales Assistant manages day‑to‑day account responsibilities to ensure proper implementation of solutions, providing superior customer service and support across Broadcast Television and Digital. The role aims at retaining clients and growing business and reports to the Sales Manager. Responsibilities Provide support to assigned Account Executives on post‑sale activity including campaign implementation, maintenance, and review. Interact daily with existing advertising agencies and direct clients; maintain client schedules on television and digital and implement special projects and promotions. Work in tandem with Account Executives, Marketing Director, Research Director, and Creative Services to support client needs. Attend sales meetings and training to gain product and process information and articulate it to clients when appropriate. Partner with designated Account Executives to identify new/incremental revenue based on campaign results. Assist designated Account Executives with contract maintenance, avails generation, traffic, make‑goods, collection, and overall customer service. Regularly track clients’ audience delivery using ratings, impressions, KPIs, and campaign fulfillment. Coordinate with the team to set up new customer accounts, contracts, order entry, and revisions. Requirements 1-3 years of account management in a professional, fast‑paced media sales environment. Track record of successfully retaining and growing clients. Knowledge of marketing solutions including broadcasting and digital advertising is preferred. Knowledge of Google Analytics and advertising solutions is highly desirable. Prior experience using CRM systems and MS Office suite. Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently to support customer needs. Self‑motivation and willingness to work as a team player are essential. Demonstrate ability to be creative, flexible, and adapt to change with evolving priorities. Detail‑oriented with ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
