The work setting for this position is primarily onsite within a school facility, where you will interact daily with students and staff. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health histories and comprehensive physical assessments to understand patient conditions fully.
• Develop individualized pain management treatment plans, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods.
• Effectively prescribe medications tailored to patients’ specific pain management needs while prioritizing safety by checking the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP).
• Guide and educate patients about their pain management therapies, including medication compliance and understanding possible side effects.
• Regularly consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal treatment plans are being delivered.
• Utilize advanced clinical assessment skills to diagnose and manage complex pain disorders.
• Execute procedures such as nerve blocks, spinal injections, and the use of pain pumps, further contributing to patient care and treatment success.
• Document thoroughly in electronic health records to maintain accurate and accessible patient information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner in this role will primarily work with a diverse student population, addressing both chronic and acute pain issues. Qualifications

• Active and valid New York State Nurse Practitioner license.

• Proficiency in evaluating complex pain disorders and utilizing a range of diagnostic tests to identify pain causes.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with pain management procedures, including but not limited to nerve blocks and pain pumps.

Compensation and Benefits
