Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our clinical facility, which emphasizes a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The typical workweek is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM. Our facility is designed to foster communication between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring that each individual receives individualized attention and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations to establish accurate assessments.
• Prescribe and manage both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments tailored to the patient’s specific pain management needs.
• Educate patients on pain management strategies, therapeutic compliance, and potential medication side effects to empower them in their treatment journey.
• Provide ongoing care and support for patients grappling with chronic pain conditions, ensuring they have access to the most effective therapies.
• Collaborate closely with physicians to determine precise treatment plans, utilizing shared decision-making to enhance patient outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, leveraging electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate tracking and documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Pain Management Nurse Practitioner, you will primarily engage with patients experiencing chronic and acute pain conditions, ranging from musculoskeletal issues to neuropathic pains. This role is integral in creating personalized care plans, focusing on holistic management that may incorporate physical rehabilitation, psychological support, and medication management. You will be an advocate for your patients, ensuring they receive the comprehensive care they need to enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York or an equivalent credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Exceptional clinical assessment abilities and strong diagnostic skills.
• Proven capability in developing and implementing comprehensive pain management strategies.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with patients and team members.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required, prior experience specifically in pain management settings is highly valued. Candidates with background knowledge in chronic pain therapies, including the use of alternative treatment modalities, will be prioritized. Familiarity with opioid management protocols and adherence to safety measures, such as checking the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP), is essential.

Compensation and Benefits
