Staff Accountant

Senior Staff AccountantAs the Senior Staff Accountant for our global toy business, you will be at the heart of our corporate finance team! Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will take ownership of essential general ledger activities, ensure seamless financial reporting, and proactively champion process improvements across multiple subsidiaries. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful financial insights and ad hoc analysis that drive senior leadership decisions. You will achieve all of this while ensuring strict compliance with SEC guidelines and internal controls. Join our dynamic team and help us shape the financial future of play!What You Will Do:Manage the company's accounting and internal controls for specific general ledgers, oversee global accounts, and execute the monthly close process for various subsidiariesPrepare and review detailed monthly account reconciliations, including receivables, payables, and prepaids, while partnering with AR and AP teams to resolve issues and streamline workflowsDrive continuous improvements in the financial close calendar by identifying process efficiencies and assisting in the refinement of internal reporting tools and dashboardsCollaborate with global business partners to deliver accurate, timely financial data and support senior leadership with ad hoc financial analysis to enhance business visibilityParticipate actively in internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and comprehensive technical accounting supportWhat We Are Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required5+ years of progressive experience in financial or accounting rolesStrong foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, and financial reporting standardsProven, hands-on experience managing detailed, transactional-level accounting tasks, recording entries, and closing accounting books and recordsDemonstrated ability to proactively identify complex accounting issues, perform thorough research, and present viable, strategic solutionsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teamsPrior exposure to internal management reporting or external financial reporting workflowsNice To Have:An active CPA certification and prior experience working as a technical accountant is a plusHands-on experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and advanced financial reporting toolsThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee, but provide the primary duties and responsibilities of the role.
