Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews and document the progress of cases from initial consultations through treatment completion, ensuring detailed notes and follow-ups.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through diagnostic assessments, understanding the context of their issues and their indicators for treatment.

• Create customized intervention and recovery plans that address the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing therapeutic models that are aligned with best practices.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that are focused on fostering emotional expression, problem-solving, and healthy coping strategies.

• Monitor and evaluate client progress throughout treatment, making adjustments to plans as necessary, to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with other mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care, sharing insights and feedback on client treatment plans.

• Maintain regular follow-ups with psychiatrists and other attending physicians for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care during transitions.

• Identify and help prevent any behaviors that may hinder the recovery process, offering support and resources for clients and their families.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in managing mental and behavioral challenges effectively through education and support.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a key team member in our community health clinic, you will be working primarily with a diverse population experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction disorders. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing culturally responsive care, understanding the unique backgrounds and experiences of each clientele.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in Massachusetts is essential to practice.

• Proven success in passing relevant examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor with a track record of positive treatment outcomes.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as AVATAR to maintain accurate client records and facilitate efficient treatment workflows.

• Understanding of the intersection of mental health with physical well-being and addiction disorders, enhancing holistic treatment approaches.

• Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and their application in diverse treatment settings.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, alongside exceptional interpersonal skills, fundamental for effective therapeutic engagement.

Compensation and Benefits\n
