Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments based on the specific psychological, cognitive, and social needs of older adults.

• Provide individual and family therapy while utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities to address geriatric conditions.

• Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies to ensure patient safety and appropriate intervention.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health concerns, treatment approaches, and community resources.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and records in line with legal and ethical standards, employing electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.

• Engage in regular team meetings and case consultations to promote continuous learning and professional development.

• Stay informed and educated on the latest research and best practices in geriatric psychiatry to enhance patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily involve working with elderly patients facing a wide array of mental health issues, including those related to chronic illnesses, cognitive decline, and adjustment challenges often encountered during aging. Understanding the complexities of geriatrics, including the emotional, social, and psychological factors that impact this demographic, is paramount for delivering effective care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Arizona is essential.

• Strong knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methods.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with elderly patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
