Take the opportunity to support middle school students in an inclusive educational setting as a Special Education Teacher working with co-taught classes. This full-time contract role is available immediately and runs through May 21, 2027, providing consistency and a chance to make a valuable impact on students' success.

You’ll work with two groups: 6th grade (Math and Science) and 7th/8th grade (ELA and Science), partnering with general education teachers in a co-teaching model. The caseload typically ranges from 10–12 students per grade, each with varying exceptionalities such as Autism, Other Health Impairments (OHI), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Mild Intellectual Disabilities (MID), and Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD). Some may have behavior plans in place, but those with significant behavioral needs are served elsewhere. The position does not involve toileting or diapering responsibilities.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and active GaPSC Special Education Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement required
• Experience working in co-taught/inclusion settings is preferred
• Knowledge of behavior plans and differentiated instruction
• Ability to collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Strong organizational and communication skills to maintain IEP compliance and document progress

Responsibilities Include:

• Co-teaching Math, Science, and ELA to middle school students alongside general education teachers
• Supporting a dynamic caseload with targeted instruction and behavioral interventions as needed
• Creating and implementing IEP goals, progress-mapping, and documentation
• Promoting a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Regular communication with families and participation in IEP meetings

This contract offers full-time hours (37.5–40 hours/week) from 7:45am–3:45pm, following the school calendar.
