Make an immediate impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students in a dynamic, inclusive environment. This rewarding contract position spans the full academic year through May 2027 and offers the opportunity to guide both 6th and 7th/8th grade students in co-taught Math, Science, and ELA classrooms.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with general education teachers, ensuring students with Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD are fully supported as they transition to and progress through middle school. You’ll engage in lesson planning, implement IEPs and behavior plans, and foster an atmosphere where every learner can thrive. There is no toileting or diapering involved, and the caseload comprises approximately 10–12 students per grade band, with possible fluctuations due to enrollments or withdrawals.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active GaPSC Special Education Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement is required
• Experience or strong knowledge in co-teaching/inclusion classrooms
• Understanding of eligibility categories under IDEA (Autism, SLD, OHI, MID, EBD)
• Ability to implement and monitor IEPs and individualized behavior plans
• Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
• Commitment to creating inclusive, engaging learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach Math and Science for 6th grade, ELA and Science for 7th/8th grades
• Develop accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction
• Collaborate daily with general education teachers and support staff
• Maintain a positive, safe classroom culture
• Ensure compliance with special education laws, policies, and documentation
• Track academic and behavioral progress, supporting student success
