Make a genuine difference by helping middle school students succeed in a welcoming, co-taught inclusion environment. This contract opportunity calls for a passionate Special Education Teacher to join an impactful team supporting 6th, 7th, and 8th graders with varied SPED eligibilities, including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD. You’ll collaborate closely with general education teachers and provide targeted instruction to small caseloads—typically around 10-12 students per grade level—in dynamic math, science, and ELA classrooms.

Your day begins at 7:45 AM and wraps up at 3:45 PM, meeting a full-time schedule through the end of the school year (May 2027). No toileting or diapering is required. You will see students primarily in co-taught/inclusion classes, utilizing your skills in differentiated instruction, IEP implementation, and collaborative teaching.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement required
• Experience in co-taught or inclusion settings strongly preferred
• Successful background working with students ages 11-14 with a range of disabilities
• Ability to implement and track behavioral plans, when needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dedication to fostering a positive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach and support general education lessons in math, science, and ELA for grades 6-8
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet individual needs as specified in IEPs
• Maintain thorough documentation and provide input on annual reviews
• Foster inclusion, self-advocacy, and confidence among students
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress
