Strategic Finance Manager

Mackie Myers is partnering with a high-growth consumer goods business to hire a Manager within its Strategic Finance and FP&A team. The business is looking for someone with an Investment Banking foundation who has subsequently moved into an operating company and developed broader experience across FP&A, Strategic Finance or Corporate Finance. This person will play an important role across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and long-term financial planning, with a particularly heavy emphasis on financial modeling and detailed commercial analysis. The role would suit someone who combines the technical and analytical rigor developed within Investment Banking with the commercial understanding that comes from working inside a business. The Role Responsibilities will include: Owning and developing sophisticated financial models Leading elements of the annual budgeting and forecasting process Managing cash flow forecasting and liquidity analysis Building scenario, sensitivity and strategic planning models Providing detailed analysis around revenue, margins, costs and overall business performance Identifying key financial and operational drivers Supporting strategic initiatives and investment decisions Evaluating new commercial opportunities through detailed financial modeling Partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams Developing executive-level reporting and financial presentations Improving forecasting methodologies, financial models, and planning processes Providing insight and recommendations rather than simply reporting results Candidate Profile A foundation in Investment Banking is required for this position. The ideal candidate will have: Started their career within Investment Banking Subsequently moved into FP&A, Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance or a similar commercial finance role Experience building complex models from the ground up Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning Strong cash flow and financial statement knowledge Advanced Excel skills Strong commercial judgment The ability to translate detailed financial analysis into clear recommendations Experience communicating with senior stakeholders Strong academic credentials and intellectual curiosity Experience within Consumer Goods, CPG, retail, ecommerce or another product-based business would be highly beneficial, but is not essential. The business is looking for someone who is highly analytical, commercially minded and comfortable getting deep into the numbers while also understanding the bigger strategic picture.
