Essential Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Orthopedic Physical Therapist to become a pivotal member of our rehabilitation team in Charlottesville, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will engage in hands-on therapy to assess and treat patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgical procedures, or chronic issues affecting their mobility.

Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our modern rehabilitation center in Charlottesville, Virginia. You will collaborate closely with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and fitness experts. This multi-disciplinary approach enhances our effectiveness in patient treatment and creates a stimulating and supportive work culture. The full-time schedule is from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical conditions and functional abilities to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Implement tailored therapy interventions, utilizing modalities such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional training.
• Monitor patients' progress continuously, adjusting treatment approaches to optimize effectiveness and mobility improvement.
• Educate patients on techniques to manage their pain and enhance their recovery through physical activity and lifestyle changes.
• Employ evidence-based practices and innovative therapies to maximize recovery while minimizing reliance on surgical options.
• Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress in our EMR system (preferably Web PT) to maintain accurate electronic records.
• Encourage and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, ensuring they remain engaged and committed to their recovery goals.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers as necessary to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with a diverse population of patients ranging from young athletes recovering from sports-related injuries to older adults rehabilitating from orthopedic surgeries. Our patient-centered care model ensures that each individual receives unique interventions based on their health history, lifestyle, and treatment goals.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia, in good standing with no sanctions or disciplinary actions.
• Demonstrated proficiency and experience in orthopedic physical therapy practices.
• Strong manual therapy skills with a focus on implementing exercise programs tailored to patients' specific needs.
• Ability to utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems effectively for documentation and patient management.
• A thorough understanding of current physical therapy techniques and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years' experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Experience with specialty treatments such as sports rehabilitation, post-operative recovery, or chronic pain management.
• Familiarity with exercise prescriptions, gait analysis, and injury prevention techniques.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
