Voice Recorder (German + English)

Provide high-quality bilingual German and English voice recordings and annotations to support training and evaluation of next-generation speech AI systems. This contractor role focuses on recording provided sentences, annotating audio for pronunciation and clarity, and producing controlled background sounds while following precise project guidelines and data consent requirements.

• Record provided sentences in German (native language) and in English, following detailed script and audio quality guidelines.
• Listen to and annotate audio clips, producing accurate transcriptions and feedback on pronunciation, clarity, and phonetic details.
• Create controlled background sounds when requested, for example stationary car interior noise or office ambient sound, ensuring recordings remain from a stationary location.
• Label, organize, and tag audio files with accurate metadata according to submission standards.
• Adhere to project rules for privacy, storage, consent, and intended use of voice recordings.
• Participate in ongoing speech data collection tasks that support training and evaluating AI speech and language models.

• Required skills: German language proficiency, speech data collection experience, familiarity with AI-related workflows, transcription and annotation skills, basic phonetics and pronunciation awareness.
• Preferred language levels: native-level proficiency in German, and at least B2-level proficiency in English to follow bilingual instructions and complete English recordings.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and meet audio quality and content specifications.
• Strong attention to detail regarding pronunciation, background noise control, and metadata accuracy.
• Comfort working independently in a remote contractor arrangement and managing your own workflow for assigned tasks.
• No prior experience in AI is required, domain expertise and language skill are what matter.

• Engagement type: Independent contractor.
• Location: Remote. All recordings must be produced from a stationary location as specified by the assignment.
• Tasks are deliverable-based and may include multiple short assignments over time; placement on specific tasks depends on project availability and selection criteria.
• All contributors must comply with consent, privacy, and data handling requirements specified for each assignment.

• Pay rate: $30.00 to $65.00 per hour.

• Native-level German required.
• Minimum English level B2 required for bilingual instructions and recordings.
• Must be able to produce recordings in a stationary environment and follow data consent instructions.
