Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable Specialist (Contract-to-Hire) Naperville, IL (Hybrid – 3 days a week) Hourly Rate: $26-$28 Contract with potential for permanent hire Our client, a growing international manufacturing organization, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This opportunity is open due to a temporary leave of absence and offers the potential for long-term employment based on performance and business needs. Responsibilities Process and review approximately 400 invoices per month Perform invoice matching, coding, and payment processing Handle ACH, wire, and credit card transactions Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations Support financial analysis, forecasting, and general accounting functions Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments Utilize Excel for reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis activities Qualifications 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs Experience working with ERP systems Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered Manufacturing experience or exposure to inventory-based environments is highly preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously Preferred Experience General accounting experience beyond AP Financial analysis or forecasting exposure Manufacturing experience Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
