If you believe in community, come join ours.About this roleWe’re looking for a Strategy & Analytics Senior Director to lead our Discovery pillar. Our Discovery pillar focuses on the core shopping experience — helping retailers find the right products and brands through search, recommendations, ads, and exploration while balancing marketplace dynamics.As the Discovery S&A Pillar lead, you’ll level up the Discovery pillar through analytics, both strategically and operationally. You will inform the pillar's most important decisions as a strategic thought partner, operationalize analytics through thoughtful systems, and take extreme ownership of key company-wide datasets and metrics. You will build and lead a high-performing S&A team that delivers these with exceptional strategic clarity, analytical rigor, and ownership.What you’ll do Drive strategic decisions at the pillar level. Serve as a trusted member of Discovery pillar leadership to inform the pillar’s most important decisions through pillar-level analysis, leveling up pod work, identifying white space opportunities, and connecting the dots across pods.Build, manage, and level up the Discovery S&A team. Recruit, coach, and grow an all star S&A team. Set a clear bar and vision to develop ICs.Own offensive and defensive tracking for key company and Discovery metrics. Drive a reporting drumbeat key metrics so we catch issues early, know when to decomp, and proactively identify opportunities to move them.Set the standard for analytical rigor across Discovery. Raise the bar on how the pillar uses data to make decisions. Set and uphold experimentation best practices for Discovery, from how tests are designed to how results get acted on.Make Discovery data usable company-wide. Drive the creation of the datasets, documentation, and self-serve tooling that enable anyone at Faire to reliably leverage complex Discovery data in analysis.Be the steward of data enablement for S&A. Own the tooling, operating model, and cross-functional relationships to ensure S&A has the right foundations to quickly and reliably drive impact.Create the systems and processes that enable a well run team. Create the right systems to enable Discovery S&As to set the analytical roadmap, prioritize effectively, and scale themselves and their impact. Take what works well to level up the broader S&A team.QualificationsTeam Building - Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent.Strategic Problem Solving - World class at breaking down the most ambiguous problems and coordinating large teams to answer it. Can cut through the noise to get to the answer and coach their team to do the same. Clear, structured, and concise communicator.Product & Business Intuition - Can contextualize how insights fit into broader business goals. Ideally has deep understanding of marketplaces and/or discovery.Proactivity & Ownership - Identifies gaps in knowledge or the way we work and owns driving solutions forward.Analytics - Has a strong technical toolkit. Can go deep on the hardest Discovery analyses and sets a high bar for analytical rigor and digging to the root.Cross-functional influence - Strong collaborative partner to key stakeholders. Gets outcomes through partners without formal authority.Values - Growth mindset, scrappy, adaptable, curious, low ego, and strong work ethic.Salary RangeSan Francisco, CA or New York City, NY: the pay range for this role is $285,500 - $392,500.This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
