Job Description
CT Technologist - Weekend Night Shift

Schedule

This position includes a weekend night shift from Friday to Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM EST, with on-call and callback requirements as needed for the unit. Expected to complete 2-3 on-call shifts per month.

Job Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging through computed tomography scans. This role includes confirming patient identity, preparing patients for scans, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The CT Technologist must coordinate with physicians and maintain accurate documentation throughout the imaging process.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and verify exams before initiating scans.
• Coordinate imaging procedures with physicians for accurate diagnostics.
• Prepare patients for scans, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety.
• Insert IVs as necessary for patient tests.
• Position patients securely and safely, using proper patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records through EPIC, ensuring proper documentation and image submission to PACS.
• Ensure a clean and safe scanning environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State (NYS) licensure required prior to starting the position.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is mandatory.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred: Injection therapy certification (must be willing to obtain during orientation).
• Preferred: Experience with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment.
