Make a difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher working on a contract basis for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity includes openings for Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) and various Special Education positions at elementary schools near Hopkins, MN, with assignments designed to support a range of student needs.
Assignments begin September 8, 2026, and continue through June 10, 2027, averaging 37.5 work hours per week. You will join a collaborative and supportive educational environment dedicated to inclusive practices and student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Special Education (other teaching or paraprofessional roles do not meet this requirement)
- Active Tier 3 or Tier 4 Minnesota Special Education License required
- Appropriate license endorsements:
- DAPE: Developmental Adapted Physical Education
- Center-Based: ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) or DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities)
- Resource roles: ABS (Academic Behavioral Strategist), EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disorders), ASD, or DCD
- Strong skills in adapting instruction to serve diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities

- Deliver evidence-based instruction and support tailored to student IEPs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Implement data-driven strategies to track and document student progress
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all learners
- Communicate progress with families and participate in IEP meetings
