Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher. This role is perfect for educators passionate about making a difference for students in grades 3 and 4 within a setting 3 or center-based classroom environment. You’ll work directly with students who have Autism and cognitive disabilities, teaching a caseload of 8 and leading a dedicated support team of two paraprofessionals.

Your primary focus will be to deliver both academic and social-emotional instruction throughout the day, ensuring each student thrives academically and personally. You’ll also take ownership of writing IEPs and evaluations, collaborating closely with school professionals and families to develop strategies that foster student growth.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (Tier 3 or 4 required)
• Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and cognitive disabilities strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage and support paraprofessionals in a classroom setting
• Working knowledge of IEP processes, evaluations, and compliance documentation
• Creative approach to curriculum adaption and problem-solving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for family and team engagement

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ unique needs
• Oversee daily routines and support student progress across academic, social, and life skills
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and evaluations
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Provide leadership and direction for two paraprofessionals
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to create supportive learning opportunities
