Help shape the lives of elementary students by guiding them through their academic and social-emotional growth in a specialized environment as a Special Education Teacher. Serving in a contract role for the 2026-2027 school year, you’ll work within a setting that supports 3rd and 4th grade students diagnosed with autism and cognitive disabilities. This center-based classroom, located near Minneapolis, features a manageable caseload of eight students and gives you the opportunity to make a profound impact.
What We're Looking For:
- Active Minnesota Special Education Licensure required
- Experience, passion, or coursework related to autism and cognitive disabilities preferred
- Ability to build strong, positive relationships with elementary-aged students
- Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
- Talent for collaborating with other teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff
- Experience crafting IEPs and performing student evaluations
- Leadership skills to oversee and support two paraprofessionals in the classroom
- Spanish language skills are highly sought after
Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily academic and social-emotional instruction in a multi-age classroom
- Manage all instructional, behavioral, and supervisory aspects for a caseload of eight students
- Write and update IEPs; conduct evaluations to support students’ success
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and families to promote the best outcomes
- Foster an inclusive environment where all students feel supported and able to thrive
