Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct assessments and intake interviews to develop personalized treatment plans aligned with client goals.

• Utilize various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing, to address clients' unique needs.

• Lead and facilitate therapist-led support groups, fostering community engagement and peer support.
\n
• Collaborate with a team of mental health professionals and resources, working closely with community recovery programs to enhance client care.

• Manage administrative tasks effectively with minimal burden, as billing and documentation support will be provided.

• Participate in monthly peer group meetings, providing and receiving professional support to enhance clinical skills.
\n
• Stay current with continuing education units (CEUs), with costs covered by the organization, to ensure best practices in patient care.

• Receive client referrals while exercising discretion and clinical judgment in treatment modalities.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals navigating challenges with alcohol use, ranging from those looking to make small changes to those seeking full abstinence. You will utilize a harm-reduction approach that respects the client's autonomy in choosing their desired level of support, providing a spectrum of options from complete sobriety to moderated use. Understanding and navigating community resources like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Smart Recovery, you will facilitate integration of these supports into treatment plans.

Qualifications\n

• Current licensure as a mental health professional (LCSW, LCSW-R, LMFT, or LMHC) in the state of New York.

• A minimum of three years of experience in counseling, particularly in settings addressing substance use disorders.

• Comprehensive training in therapeutic methodologies such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care.

• Strong clinical engagement skills with the ability to express empathy and understanding to diverse clients.

• Awareness of and familiarity with community recovery support options and how to integrate them into treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Valley Healing Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
