Work Environment

This role will be based onsite at a local school within Huntington Station, allowing you to engage with students and their families directly. You will work closely with a licensed physician and a multidisciplinary team, which includes nurses, specialists, and administrative staff, all focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages students to seek care for their cardiovascular health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough primary care assessments, including obtaining patient histories and performing detailed physical examinations.
• Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluations and current cardiovascular guidelines.
• Administer and interpret diagnostic tests relevant to cardiovascular health, including ECGs and laboratory tests, effectively communicating results to patients and their families.
• Provide education and counseling on lifestyle modifications to promote heart health, such as nutrition, exercise, and medication adherence.
• Maintain and operate medical equipment safely to ensure accurate diagnostics and effective patient care.
• Foster relationships with students to create a trusting environment for discussing health concerns, making referrals to specialists as necessary.
• Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately in electronic health records, adhering to standards of practice and compliance requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at our clinic, you will primarily serve school-aged children and adolescents. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying early signs of cardiovascular issues, educating young patients about the importance of heart health, and offering support to families in managing chronic conditions. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving health outcomes within the student population, promoting lifelong healthy habits.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in cardiology or relevant field.
• Active and unrestricted nursing license in the state of New York.
• A Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a relevant setting, with a strong preference for experience in cardiology or school-based health services.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
