Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess client mental health, documenting detailed case histories from initial consultation through treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to create tailored intervention and recovery plans for various demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, leveraging evidence-based practices and innovative techniques to foster a positive therapeutic alliance.

• Continuously monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to ensure optimal client outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care for clients with complex needs.

• Follow up actively with any clients admitted to hospitals, coordinating treatment and ensuring integration upon their return to outpatient care.

• Identify and develop strategies to prevent behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing staunch support for both clients and their families in managing mental health challenges.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers by providing education and resources about mental health, enhancing their ability to support clients effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current, valid licensure (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R) in the state of New York.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to streamline documentation and improve patient care.

• Experience in dealing with underlying physical health conditions, emotional disorders, and addiction issues.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.

• In-depth understanding of the effects and management of medications prescribed for mental health conditions.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, alongside a sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates.
