Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews and maintain meticulous documentation from initial consultations through to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to develop personalized intervention and recovery plans.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, adapting interventions based on client progress and needs.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress throughout the duration of their treatment plans, making necessary adjustments to enhance outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to align intervention strategies and optimize client care.
\n
• Manage referrals to appropriate services and provide necessary follow-up for clients hospitalized for acute care.
\n
• Identify risk factors and implement preventative strategies to support client recovery and stability.
\n
• Support families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing their loved ones' mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at West Hills Behavioral Health Center, you will work with a diverse client population ranging from children to adults, each facing unique mental health challenges. You will be equipped to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction, utilizing a client-centered approach that respects individual needs and cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW) in Illinois.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated previous experience in a mental health counseling role.
\n
• Proficient with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience addressing a variety of mental health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, including those related to physical health conditions and substance abuse disorders.

• Familiarity with best practices promoted by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their implications on mental health treatment.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.

• Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach to client interactions.
