Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, documenting comprehensive case histories from initial consultations through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate and assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, utilizing structured assessment tools and clinical judgment.
\n
• Develop evidence-based intervention and recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities to foster healing and growth.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary based on client feedback and clinical observations.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including mental health specialists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers to ensure holistic care.

• Maintain open lines of communication with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for clients requiring hospitalization or additional psychiatric support.

• Proactively identify and address behavioral challenges that may hinder recovery, applying preventive strategies to mitigate risks.

• Support clients' families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health issues by providing education and resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Mental Harbor, you will work with a diverse client population, including adults, adolescents, and families facing various mental health challenges. Common issues addressed include anxiety, depression, relationship problems, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Your role is vital in fostering resilience and recovery, empowering clients to manage their mental health effectively.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor, including the development of treatment plans and conducting therapeutic sessions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Experience addressing underlying physical health conditions, emotional health issues, and substance use disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology and how prescribed medications affect clients' mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n
