Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility and the opportunity to engage with students from various backgrounds. Interactions will occur primarily through virtual sessions, ensuring accessibility and continuity of care for students who may face barriers to in-person appointments. Collaborative tools and telehealth platforms will be used to facilitate effective communication and intervention strategies with students and staff.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments through video interviews, observations, and collaboration with educational staff to determine the emotional, social, and developmental needs of students.

• Provide individual and group counseling that addresses various mental health issues including anxiety, depression, social skills, and adjustment challenges associated with the school environment.

• Develop personalized treatment plans in conjunction with educators, parents, and other mental health professionals, ensuring that a holistic approach is taken to support each student's unique circumstances.

• Facilitate workshops and informational sessions for students and parents regarding mental health literacy, coping strategies, and available resources.
\n
• Assist students in accessing community resources, including crisis intervention services, extracurricular programs, and behavioral support systems.
\n
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, share best practices, and refine intervention strategies.

• Engage in discharge planning to ensure students have the necessary tools and support as they transition out of counseling or after significant life changes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on school-aged children and adolescents. Our patient population is diverse, coming from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Many students face challenges such as learning disabilities, family stressors, trauma, and socio-economic barriers which impact their educational experience. As an LCSW at Mind Care Counseling Center, you will play a pivotal role in helping these young individuals find resilience, improve their emotional health, and maximize their potential.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.

• An active and unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Connecticut.

• Demonstrated understanding of child and adolescent development, and familiarity with mental health issues affecting young people.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working within a school setting or with children and adolescents is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
