This part-time position focuses on accurate patient scheduling, registration, and financial responsibility management, ensuring a seamless experience from arrival to discharge. Job Summary As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for registering patients using specialized software, verifying insurance and benefits, and managing referrals and pre-authorizations. You will conduct patient interviews prior to visits, handle point-of-service collections including co-pays and balances, and maintain daily cash drawer operations. Your communication skills will be essential as you operate a multi-line phone system, respond to inquiries, and relay information to staff promptly and professionally. Key Responsibilities Schedule and register patients accurately, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Verify insurance coverage, referrals, and pre-authorizations. Collect patient financial responsibilities at point of service and manage cash drawer. Operate multi-line telephone systems to assist patients and staff. Complete administrative tasks including mail processing and workflow improvements. Participate actively in team activities and maintain a positive work environment. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred. Healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology are advantageous. Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle processes is a plus. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.
