Work Environment

Your role as a Physical Therapist will be onsite at our rehabilitation facility, working among a dynamic team of healthcare professionals. Collaborating daily with nursing staff, occupational therapists, and supportive aides, you will ensure that our residents receive comprehensive and cohesive care tailored to their individual recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess each resident's mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional capabilities, identifying specific needs and goals.
• Utilize evidence-based methodologies to develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on pain management, mobility enhancement, and prevention of falls.
• Provide therapeutic interventions which may include manual therapy techniques, targeted therapeutic exercises, and valuable balance training to enhance residents' stability.
• Incorporate the use of assistive devices and recommend appropriate mobility aids to promote independence and safety in daily activities.
• Collaborate proactively with nursing staff, occupational therapists, and caregivers to ensure seamless transitions in care and optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
• Educate residents and their families regarding home exercise programs, lifestyle modifications, mobility strategies, and safety measures to support autonomy post-discharge.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with skilled nursing facility regulations, ensuring that all records reflect the care provided and the progress made.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary clientele consists of older adults facing various rehabilitation challenges, including post-surgical recovery, stroke rehabilitation, orthopedic injuries, and management of chronic illnesses. The focus on geriatric care demands expertise in age-related conditions, mobility issues, and comprehensive care approaches that prioritize safety and comfort throughout the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or geriatric rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with long-term care regulations and proven experience in rehabilitative care specific to aging populations is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
