Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapist - Full-Time Position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist to join our orthopedic outpatient practice at the Skeletal Orthopedic Sports Rehab Clinic in Syracuse, New York. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in the rehabilitation journey of our patients, assisting them in regaining mobility and enhancing their overall quality of life. You will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, implementing individualized treatment plans designed to promote recovery and optimize physical performance.

Our clinic specializes in helping patients with a variety of orthopedic issues, particularly those covered by private medical insurance. Work Environment

This position is located onsite in our modern rehabilitation center, where you will interact regularly with a supportive team of two Physical Therapists and one Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The working environment is collaborative and encourages open communication among team members to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical abilities and establish personalized care plans accordingly.
• Implement various treatment techniques while ensuring a patient load of one individual per hour. This helps ensure personalized attention and thorough assessment of each patient's progress.
• Deliver cost-effective treatments aimed at enhancing mobility and function while minimizing reliance on medications.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to design and perform comprehensive exercise and rehabilitation programs.
• Regularly evaluate treatment outcomes, make necessary adjustments, and maintain open lines of communication regarding progress with patients and their families.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment procedures comprehensively to ensure accurate medical records.
• Encourage patients through motivational strategies to adhere to treatment protocols and improve their functional capabilities.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices that enhance overall strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination to support long-term well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients dealing with orthopedic conditions, ranging from sports injuries to post-surgical rehabilitation. You will work extensively with individuals motivated to regain their functionality and mobility, often requiring tailored treatment approaches to meet diverse needs and recovery goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• An active Physical Therapist license in New York, free from any board actions or disciplinary measures.
• Strong manual therapy skills and proficiency in devising effective exercise programs.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, for efficient patient documentation and management.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work with diverse populations and possess excellent communication skills.
• Experience with sports rehabilitation and injury prevention techniques.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
