Friend of a Farmer - Gramercy Park
Friend of a Farmer, one of New York City's original farm-to-table restaurants, is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our leadership team at our iconic Gramercy Park location.
Since 1986, we have built our reputation on seasonal American comfort food, genuine hospitality, and a commitment to sourcing quality ingredients from local and sustainable producers whenever possible. We are looking for a chef who is passionate about cooking, leadership, and building a long-term career with a stable, family-owned restaurant group.
Responsibilities
- Support the CDC in all kitchen operations
- Lead, train, and motivate the culinary team
- Ensure consistency, quality, and execution during service
- Manage inventory, ordering, food cost, and kitchen organization
- Maintain all health and safety standards
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Sous Chef experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience in high-volume kitchens
- Passion for seasonal, ingredient-driven cooking
- Strong organizational and operational skills
