As a remote position, this role encompasses a flexible work environment where you will engage with clients through digital platforms while collaborating with fellow team members. Your typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the expectation of some evening shifts based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth assessments to evaluate the needs, goals, and motivations of clients seeking substance use disorder treatment.

• Develop, implement, and continuously revise individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions, employing therapeutic frameworks such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy to encourage behavioral change and personal growth.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions, helping participants share experiences and strategies while fostering a sense of community and mutual support.

• Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists and addiction specialists to create an integrated care approach that addresses all dimensions of a client’s well-being.

• Respond effectively to crisis situations by offering immediate support and intervention during substance-related emergencies.

• Educate clients and their families about the nature of addiction, effective recovery strategies, and available community resources to ensure a supportive recovery environment.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient data management.

• Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations, contributing your insights to foster a collaborative work environment.

• Keep abreast of emerging research and advancements in the field of addiction treatment to ensure the application of best practices in therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on treating adults facing substance use disorders and assisting them in overcoming various challenges unique to their recovery journey. You will engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses, tailoring your approach to meet their specific circumstances and cultural considerations.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders, treatment modalities and recovery approaches.
\n
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy in the context of addiction treatment.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills coupled with a non-judgmental, empathetic approach to counseling.
\n
• Capacity to maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines, ensuring client confidentiality is upheld.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
\n
• A strong commitment to working within a multidisciplinary team setting to enhance patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least one year of direct experience working with clients in substance use recovery settings is highly desirable.

• Experience in developing and implementing relapse prevention strategies.

Compensation and Benefits\n
