Our faculty are excellent teachers with active research programs and provide students with independent research opportunities. Position Summary The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach Biology undergraduate courses and/or labs such as: BIOL 132: General Entomology BIOL 158: Cancer Biology Other high‑enrollment general education courses as needed Instructor Responsibility Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system‑wide policies. Instructors must prepare, deliver, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Conditional Appointment Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions in the CSU–CFA collective bargaining agreement. Licensure to work in the United States is required. Compensation Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the salary range for CSU lecturers (Class Code 2358). For a master’s degree holder, the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month for a full‑time workload (15 WTUs). Salaries may be adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per term. Anticipated Semester Positions are filled as needed and may begin on short notice. The pool is open for two academic terms; candidates must reapply thereafter. Fall 2026: Aug 19 – Dec 22 Spring 2027: Jan 15 – May 26 Required Qualifications – High Enrollment General Education Education: Master’s degree in Biology from an accredited institution. Required Qualifications – Upper‑Division Specialty / Graduate Level Education: PhD in a biology‑related field or sufficient industry/clinical/private sector experience. Experience: Commitment to working effectively with diverse student populations. Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Expertise in a closely related discipline.
