26-27 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) – Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department Job no: 556707 Work type: Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer Location: Fresno Overview Our interdisciplinary program explores gender and its intersections with sexuality, race, ethnicity, class, nationality, disability, and age. We empower students to change the world around them by honing critical thinking skills, deepening a commitment to social justice, and affirming their ability to craft solutions to social problems. Responsibilities Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies. Responsibilities include preparing, delivering, proctoring, and grading lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Temporary faculty will teach undergraduate courses, such as: Lower Division courses: WGSS 10 Intro to Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, WGSS 11 Introduction to LGBTQ+ Studies, WGSS 12 Critical Thinking, WGSS 18 Women and Ageing. Courses in the LGBTQ2S+ Studies curriculum: WGSS 165/PSYCH 165 LGBTQ Psychology, WGSS 122 Queer Indigenous and Persons of Color. Conditional Appointment Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and is subject to the Order of Work provisions of the California State University–California Faculty Association collective bargaining agreement, beginning with tenure‑line faculty and concluding with new lecturer appointees. Compensation Salary ranges are determined by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code 2358). For a Master’s degree holder, the monthly salary is $5,507–$6,677 when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Actual monthly salary will be adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per academic term. Anticipated Semester Fall 2026: August 19 – December 22, 2026 Spring 2027: January 15 – May 26, 2027 Required Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field. Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced through prior teaching experience and evaluations or other evidence. Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level or in community education settings. Experience in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies or a related field.
