Billing AssociateThe Billing Associate at Interstate Waste Services is essential for ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for waste management services. This role involves preparing, reviewing, and processing customer invoices, resolving billing discrepancies, maintaining accurate customer records, and collaborating with internal teams to address billing inquiries and ensure revenue collection. The Billing Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the company through meticulous attention to detail and effective communication.Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.Process and generate billing for assigned market areas including all lines of businessCreate and issue accurate invoices to customersTransmit files to print to vendors and customersPost all billing transactionsCreates and mails manual invoices as neededCreate and process adjustmentsResearch and resolve customer issuesAnswer customer queries via phone/emailPrepare and monitor all monthly billing reportsManage account balances and resolve inconsistenciesPrepare and/or complete proper spreadsheets and online portals for customersUpdate accounting records with issued invoices, processed payments, new balances, and customer contact informationCollaborate with other teams to resolve billing disputesPerform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by Billing SupervisorRequirements and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.1-3 years of billing, bookkeeping, finance, or a related roleProficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Specifically, ExcelBilingual preferred; able to read, write, and speak Spanish proficientlyMust have strong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multi-task and can work effectively with other team membersAbility to manage time effectively and work in a fast paced and changing environment.Able to work overtime as neededAdditional InformationThis job description is intended to be an accurate representation of the general functions of the job, rather than an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or experience.
