Account Executive

Summary: As an Account Executive for Contra Costa Times, you will develop effective advertising programs to meet advertisers' marketing objectives with a combination of both print and digital advertising. You will cultivate relationships with clients with an emphasis on new business, while establishing and achieving department sales goals, both personal and team. What you will do:
- Lead heavy prospecting and sales plan development for new and existing clients, with a specific focus on digital opportunities
- Evaluate sales opportunities to design custom digital programs and craft proposals that clearly demonstrate value
- Achieve sales goals and objectives, including key performance indicators like revenue, active accounts, contract performance, and market share
- Manage sales administration tasks, such as aging and flash reports, while ensuring the accurate processing of all ad orders
- Demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Apply a deep understanding of internet and mobile advertising to solve client challenges
- Execute consultative selling strategies with a consistent ability to close a high volume of sales

- Strong written and verbal communication skills alongside a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage your time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study (preferred)
- A proven track record of sales success and a drive to meet revenue targets (required)
- Prior experience in media sales is a plus

- Travel - This position entails occasional driving for work assignments, in-person training sessions and/or meetings. The employee will be responsible for transporting themselves between different sites as needed
- Must be available for shift work. May be required to work various hours for coverage outside of normal business hours
