About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in managing ventilated patients - Familiarity with computerized charting, specifically EPIC - Proven ability to manage multi-system organ dysfunction Description: The position involves working in a medical intensive care unit. This unit specializes in treating adults and geriatric patients. Common patient diagnoses may include oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, gastrointestinal bleeding, and sepsis. Team members will provide advanced treatments for hemodynamically compromised patients. Responsibilities may include administering chemotherapy, managing complex medication regimens, and conducting clinical trials. Special procedures might involve using pulmonary artery catheters, performing CRRT, and managing arterial pressure monitoring. Team members will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary support services including respiratory services and pharmacy. Proper infection prevention protocols must be followed at all times. All candidates must possess the skills necessary for the management of patients with critical needs, including IV starts and monitoring.
