The Union Family Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in the mental health and well-being of our clients, providing expert care through telehealth services. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough mental health evaluations, creating personalized treatment plans, and leading both individual and group therapy sessions. You will also have the important task of managing client referrals and collaborating with other health professionals to promote comprehensive client care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting initial assessments by interviewing clients to gather comprehensive histories and documenting their mental health status from consultation through treatment.
\n
• Evaluating individual clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to identify challenges and treatment needs.
\n
• Developing customized intervention and recovery plans tailored for different demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Leading engaging therapy sessions, both one-on-one and in groups, while adapting therapeutic techniques to meet clients' evolving needs.
\n
• Monitoring and documenting client progress regularly throughout treatment, making adjustments to care plans as required to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, including fellow mental health professionals, psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure a cohesive approach to treatment.
\n
• Coordinating follow-ups with psychiatrists and other medical professionals involved in clients' care, particularly for those requiring hospitalization.
\n
• Identifying and taking proactive measures to address behaviors that may hinder a client's recovery process.
\n
• Supporting families and primary caregivers by providing guidance on managing mental health issues and encouraging healthy approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse range of clients facing varying mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our clients come from all walks of life, and you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on their mental and emotional well-being, advocating for their health in a supportive telehealth setting.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid license in the state of Washington as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW is essential.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) with passing scores.
\n
• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for managing client information.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients dealing with concurrent physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction issues.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Strong understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical specialists on patients.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities that foster client trust.

Compensation and Benefits\n
