Key Responsibilities\n

• Coordinate mental health treatment with the Medical Director and other healthcare team members, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care.

• Conduct in-service training sessions for medical, psychiatric, and security staff to enhance understanding and responsiveness to mental health issues.
\n
• Intervene during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques to stabilize patients in crisis.
\n
• Participate in commitment hearings when necessary, representing the facility's position and advocating for patient care.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals tailored to each patient’s unique needs, ensuring ongoing assessment and adjustments as needed.
\n
• Maintain thorough documentation of all patient interactions while ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
\n
• Verify and evaluate patients' mental health history and psychotropic medication usage to inform treatment decisions.
\n
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, as well as special reports when required, to keep the healthcare team informed.

• Collaborate with nursing and mental health staff to facilitate appropriate post-release care and referrals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey.

• Minimum of two years of counseling experience, preferably in a clinical or telehealth setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse treatment is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, supplemented by a sign-on bonus that recognizes your commitment to improving our patients' lives.
