Police Dispatcher (911) for AI Training

Role Overview

Apply your emergency communications expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. This remote, project-based role uses real-world dispatch knowledge to improve how models assess incidents, communicate clearly, and make escalation decisions. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize and triage incoming requests accurately in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
• Monitor and manage radio, phone, and digital communication channels at the same time.
• Use APCO or NENA protocols to assess, document, and route incidents according to established procedures.
• Provide clear, concise, accurate written and verbal responses in fast-paced simulated or real-world emergency scenarios.
• Provide detailed feedback on incident handling, decision-making, and escalation processes for AI evaluation and development.
• Create typical and edge-case dispatch scenarios, including recommended response protocols.
• Review and annotate transcripts or incident logs for accuracy, clarity, and training-data quality.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of active experience as a police dispatcher, coordinator, or equivalent emergency communications professional.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and make rapid decisions in high-stress environments.
• APCO and/or NENA certification is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong accuracy and professionalism.
• Familiarity with dispatch protocols, CAD systems, and current emergency communications technology.
• Experience documenting and communicating procedures for training or quality assurance is preferred.
• A detail-oriented, adaptable, collaborative approach to remote, project-based work.

Work Terms

• Remote independent contractor engagement.

Compensation

• $30 to $65 per hour.
