Chief Operating Officer
Parsimed, LLC
Chief Operating Officer (COO)Healthcare Innovation | Pharmaceutical R&D | Digital Health | Medical Technology
Location: New Jersey / New York Metropolitan Area
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Position: Executive Leadership
Reports to: Founder & President
About the CompanyWe are an early-stage healthcare research, development, and innovation company focused on translating novel concepts into clinically meaningful and commercially viable products.
The company currently has three primary areas of development:
- Pharmaceutical & Drug-Delivery Development
- Development of novel pharmaceutical and therapeutic products, including innovative drug-delivery platforms.
- Digital Health & Software Development
- Development of healthcare applications and technology platforms designed to improve clinical assessment, patient monitoring, data collection, research, and healthcare delivery.
- Medical & Technological Innovation
- Development of new medical technologies and devices with potential clinical and commercial applications.
Several projects have already undergone substantial initial research and development and are approaching important next phases, including further validation, regulatory strategy, clinical research, intellectual-property development, strategic partnerships, fundraising, and eventual commercialization.
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Chief Operating Officer (COO) who can work closely with the Founder to transform these initiatives into a structured, scalable healthcare innovation company.
The OpportunityThis is not a traditional corporate COO position.
We are looking for an executive who is comfortable entering an innovation-driven organization at an early stage, evaluating multiple promising programs, establishing priorities, and developing the operational and commercial infrastructure necessary to move them forward.
The COO will serve as the primary operational partner to the Founder and will help translate scientific and clinical innovation into executable business strategies.
The successful candidate should be capable of coordinating activities across pharmaceutical development, medical technology, digital health, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, clinical research, finance, and commercialization.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe COO will:
- Lead day-to-day business and operational strategy across the companys three development divisions.
- Evaluate the current product pipeline and establish development priorities, timelines, budgets, milestones, and measurable objectives.
- Develop a clear roadmap for advancing each project from its current R&D stage toward validation, regulatory approval when applicable, commercialization, licensing, or strategic partnership.
- Coordinate relationships with scientists, engineers, software developers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, regulatory consultants, attorneys, academic collaborators, clinical investigators, and other outside partners.
- Help develop appropriate FDA and regulatory strategies for pharmaceutical, medical-device, and digital-health products.
- Establish project-management systems and accountability across multiple simultaneous development programs.
- Assist with intellectual-property strategy in coordination with patent counsel.
- Identify potential pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, technology, and strategic industry partners.
- Develop commercialization, licensing, and go-to-market strategies.
- Help prepare the organization for outside investment, strategic partnerships, grants, and other sources of capital.
- Participate in investor presentations, business-development discussions, negotiations, and due diligence.
- Develop operating budgets and financial projections in collaboration with financial advisors or a fractional CFO.
- Recruit and manage additional executives, employees, consultants, and vendors as the company grows.
- Establish KPIs and provide regular reporting regarding development progress, expenditures, risks, and upcoming milestones.
- Build the operational infrastructure necessary to transition the organization from founder-driven R&D into a scalable commercial enterprise.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have significant leadership experience in one or more of the following:
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical development
- Medical devices or medical technology
- Digital health or healthcare software
- Drug-delivery technologies
- Life-sciences startups
- Healthcare commercialization
- Venture-backed healthcare companies
The ideal candidate will have approximately 10–20+ years of progressive leadership experience , including senior executive responsibility.
Prior experience as a COO, CEO, President, EVP, General Manager, VP of Operations, VP of Business Development, or comparable senior leadership position is highly desirable.
Preferred ExperienceStrong candidates should demonstrate experience in several of the following areas:
- Taking healthcare products from R&D toward commercialization
- FDA-regulated product development
- Clinical research and clinical trials
- Pharmaceutical or medical-device development
- Digital-health product development
- Strategic partnerships and licensing
- Intellectual-property strategy
- Fundraising and investor relations
- Venture capital or private-equity interactions
- Financial modeling and budgeting
- Building and managing multidisciplinary teams
- Contract negotiation
- Product launch and commercialization
Experience successfully advancing at least one healthcare product from an early development stage through a significant regulatory, financing, licensing, partnership, or commercialization milestone would be particularly valuable.
Candidate ProfileWe are looking for someone who is:
Entrepreneurial. Comfortable building an organization rather than simply managing an established one.
Execution-oriented. Able to convert innovative concepts into defined projects with deadlines, budgets, responsibilities, and measurable milestones.
Scientifically literate. Able to communicate effectively with physicians, scientists, engineers, developers, regulatory specialists, and business professionals.
Commercially sophisticated. Able to recognize which innovations have meaningful commercial potential and determine the most practical path to market.
Strategic but hands-on. Willing to work directly on projects during the companys growth phase rather than relying on a large existing corporate infrastructure.
Comfortable with uncertainty. Able to evaluate emerging technologies and make disciplined decisions when complete information is not yet available.
A strong communicator and negotiator. Capable of representing the company with potential investors, pharmaceutical companies, technology partners, academic institutions, regulatory consultants, and other strategic organizations.
EducationAdvanced education is preferred but not mandatory.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- MBA
- MD
- PhD
- PharmD
- MS in engineering, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related disciplines
Exceptional industry experience may substitute for advanced academic credentials.
CompensationCompensation will be competitive and structured according to the candidates experience and level of involvement.
The package may include:
- Base salary
- Performance-based compensation
- Long-term incentives
- Equity participation
For an exceptional candidate, we are open to discussing a compensation structure that strongly aligns executive incentives with the long-term growth and value creation of the company.
Why Join Us?This is an opportunity to become a key executive at an early stage of a multidisciplinary healthcare innovation company with several products already progressing through research and development.
Rather than joining a company centered around a single concept, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help build and commercialize a portfolio spanning pharmaceutical development, digital health, and medical technology .
The COO will work directly with the Founder and have substantial influence over the companys organizational structure, development priorities, partnerships, commercialization strategy, and long-term direction. xihmbke
ApplicationInterested candidates should submit a resume or CV and a brief letter of interest describing:
- Relevant healthcare or life-sciences executive experience
- Products or companies they have helped develop or commercialize
- Experience with startups or early-stage companies
- Regulatory and/or FDA experience
- Fundraising, licensing, or strategic-partnership experience
- Their interest in helping build a multidisciplinary healthcare innovation company
- Confidential inquiries from qualified senior executives are welcome.
