Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, both clinical and psychosocial, to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use issues, paying special attention to co-occurring disorders.

• Work collaboratively with clients to customize treatment plans tailored to their unique needs utilizing evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to impart coping mechanisms, emotional regulation strategies, and relapse prevention skills, empowering clients on their journey to recovery.
\n
• Maintain regular interactions with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and integrated treatment approaches for every client.
\n
• Implement substance use monitoring protocols and apply motivational interviewing techniques that foster engagement and accountability in clients’ recovery processes.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on the relationship between mental health and substance use, underlining the importance of treatment adherence through informative discussions and resource sharing.
\n
• Ensure thorough documentation of all client interactions, treatment progress, and any referrals made, keeping in line with ethical and legal guidelines.

• Engage in ongoing professional development via training sessions and case conferences, to continuously refine your expertise in treating co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clients you will serve primarily consist of individuals facing complex challenges associated with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This often includes those battling depression, anxiety, PTSD, and various addiction issues simultaneously. Your role will be pivotal in guiding them toward a healthier lifestyle through tailored therapeutic interventions that respect and respond to their unique experiences and needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license, such as LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT, to practice in New York State.
\n
• Expertise in utilizing evidence-based therapies geared toward treating co-occurring disorders, with a firm grasp of methodologies like Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working in a community health clinic or integrated care setting is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for effective documentation and client management.

• Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
