This position is primarily remote, offering flexibility while allowing you to collaborate with a vibrant team of professionals from various disciplines. While you will primarily work from your home office, you will participate in regular virtual team meetings, and some client appointments may require evening hours on a rotating schedule. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health and substance use assessments to evaluate each client's unique needs, identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Collaborate with clients to create and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions aimed at addressing both mental health and substance use challenges.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on developing coping mechanisms, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention strategies.
\n
• Work in conjunction with psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists to provide multi-faceted and integrated care tailored to client needs.

• Engage clients with motivational interviewing techniques and regular substance use monitoring, supporting their recovery journey with encouragement and understanding.

• Educate clients and their families on the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, stressing the significance of treatment compliance.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment interventions, ensuring adherence to ethical and legal guidelines.

• Actively participate in case discussions, staff training and development programs to enhance expertise in the management of co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals who experience co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. These clients come from diverse backgrounds and face various life challenges. Your expertise will empower them to navigate their recovery journeys, enhance coping strategies, and break cycles of dependency, facilitating lasting changes in their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized and accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York.
\n
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapies specifically effective for co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Comprehensive understanding of the interrelationship between mental health issues and substance use disorders, alongside a strong commitment to ethical practices.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, allowing for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of relevant experience in a clinical mental health setting focused on co-occurring disorders is preferred. This should include direct client care and involvement in multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous for documentation and patient tracking.
