Key Responsibilities

As an Advanced Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, planning, and implementing effective treatment strategies. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions to determine individualized treatment plans.
• Directing physical therapy programs geared toward preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring functional movement.
• Overseeing and mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants during treatment sessions, ensuring adherence to care protocols.
• Administering tailored therapeutic exercises and non-manual activities to facilitate rehabilitation.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to discuss patient progress and update care plans as necessary.
• Documenting treatment progress and modifying plans in response to patient feedback and clinical findings.
• Providing guidance and education to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation exercises and home modifications.
• Conducting regular evaluations of treatment efficacy and adjusting modalities to optimize patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with diverse patient populations, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, sports injuries, and age-related conditions. Your expertise will greatly impact the lives of these patients, helping them regain mobility and independence through holistic care strategies that prioritize their unique needs and capabilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or higher qualification (DPT preferred had the initial description indicated, but here we will allow only a Bachelor's qualification).
• Current and valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Strong demonstrable commitment to clinical excellence and high ethical standards in practice.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and to contribute to the overall organizational goals.

Preferred Experience

Candidates are encouraged to have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in physical therapy, ideally within a rehabilitation or acute care setting. This experience should encompass the application of various therapeutic modalities, diagnostic assessments, and familiarity with prosthetic and orthotic recommendations.
