Work Environment

The role of the Nurse Practitioner is situated in an onsite hospital setting where you will engage with pediatric patients and their families directly. Key Responsibilities

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, using evidence-based guidelines to inform decision-making.
• Identify, assess, and manage a wide range of health issues faced by pediatric patients, both acute and chronic.
• Develop and prescribe individualized care plans that may include medications, nutrition, exercise regimens, and other therapeutic modalities.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care and timely referrals as necessary.
• Evaluate and document patient progress according to established plans of care, adjusting treatment as needed.
• Conduct telephone consultations, manage laboratory follow-ups, and triage walk-in patients appropriately.
• Serve as a clinical resource, guiding healthcare providers and non-medically trained staff in patient care procedures.
• Assist in the onboarding and mentoring of new nurse practitioners, fostering their integration into our team.
• Participate in the continuous development and revision of practice guidelines to enhance clinical care.
• Engage in peer audits to support quality assurance and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity in all interactions, contributing to a safe, trust-based environment.
• Deliver direct clinical patient care through comprehensive health histories and focused physical examinations in response to specific patient concerns.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role explicitly focuses on pediatric patients, requiring a sensitive and informed approach to healthcare delivery. The Nurse Practitioner will cater to a diverse group of children and adolescents, ranging from routine check-ups to complex health issues, emphasizing preventive care and early intervention strategies for better health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid New York State Nurse Practitioner license along with certification in Family Health or Adult Health; an active New York State Registered Nurse license is preferred.
• Current National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate.
• A Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across various stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of three years significant clinical experience in an ambulatory care setting, particularly with pediatric populations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a full patient caseload, reflecting efficiency and effectiveness in a busy healthcare environment.

Compensation and Benefits
