Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary assessments, documenting each client’s history and needs from their initial consultation through the entirety of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to inform treatment decisions and interventions.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for various demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and therapy groups.
\n
• Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities to address a range of mental health issues.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to facilitate effective recovery.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive care.

• Follow up with healthcare providers for clients requiring hospital admission, ensuring seamless coordination for ongoing mental health support.

• Identify behaviors that may hinder recovery and provide strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Support families and caregivers in understanding and managing the mental and behavioral challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse group of clients presenting a spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. This role demands a high level of empathy and understanding, as clients may come from various backgrounds and life experiences. Building strong therapeutic relationships will be key to effective counseling and fostering a supportive environment.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Exam (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience in a mental health counseling role, with an emphasis on outpatient settings preferred.

• Proficient with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR.

• A solid understanding of physical health conditions, emotional disorders, and addiction treatment.

• In-depth knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities.
