Key Responsibilities\n

The Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker will take on a variety of responsibilities, including:

• Participating in the planning and organization of mental health programs and services to improve patient care delivery.

• Actively communicating with referring physicians regarding patient progress, needs, and any challenges that arise, utilizing collaborative problem-solving strategies.

• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with department policies, ensuring that all notes reflect the patients' progress and billing requirements.

• Engaging in the development of individualized treatment and discharge plans based on comprehensive psychosocial assessments, integrating established social work interventions within a team-based approach.

• Providing direct counseling and crisis intervention, focusing on the assessment and management of emotional and behavioral challenges facing our clients.

• Coordinating treatment plans with families and support systems, ensuring holistic care and sustainable resources for patient transitions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work primarily with high-risk patients facing significant mental health challenges, including complex emotional disorders and behavioral issues. Your expertise will help these individuals navigate their personal and environmental stresses, allowing for better engagement with their medical care and overall health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

• A valid state license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an outpatient mental health setting, with a passion for working with high-risk populations.

• Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems, telehealth platforms, and general computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.

• Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience\n

While not required, candidates with specific experience in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care will be highly regarded. Familiarity with community resources in the Bellingham area and experience with telehealth practices are also advantageous.
