About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Lending Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and administering the regulatory compliance management program to ensure adherence to real estate lending laws and legal requirements. This role involves developing, implementing, and updating processes and procedures in line with new or changing regulatory standards. The VP will also serve as the primary contact for regulatory, internal and external audit matters, and legal concerns within the lending division. Key responsibilities include providing regulatory guidance, leading a professional team, coordinating compliance reviews, and overseeing the investigative process for legal, regulatory, and administrative complaints. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, or finance, with a JD preferred, and 5-8 years' of experience in lending operations, quality control, or compliance. A strong background in state and federal laws related to mortgage and consumer lending, particularly as they apply to federal credit unions, is essential. The role requires in-depth knowledge of various loan programs and the secondary mortgage market. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage projects and work effectively under pressure. Proficiency in PC applications and the ability to communicate professionally with senior management, regulators, and other departmental leaders are also necessary.
