Human Resources Manager

Construction Industry | Full-Time | Individual Contributor Join a growing construction company as the HR & Administration Manager , reporting directly to the President. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for managing all human resources and office administration functions while supporting a dynamic, project‑driven workforce. What You'll Do Human Resources Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding. Partner with leadership and project managers on workforce planning and staffing needs. Lead recruiting efforts for field, supervisory, and office personnel. Administer employee benefits, leave programs, workers' compensation, and HR compliance initiatives. Maintain employee records, policies, and HR processes while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. Serve as the primary HR resource for managers and employees. Construction Workforce Support Support staffing and labor planning for active construction projects. Track employee certifications, licenses, training, and safety documentation. Assist with labor compliance, prevailing wage requirements, and workforce development initiatives. Administration & Operations Oversee office administration, facilities, vendor relationships, equipment, and office operations. Manage company licenses, registrations, permits, and corporate records. Coordinate company meetings, employee events, and leadership support projects. Develop and improve administrative processes that enhance efficiency and employee experience. Reporting & Process Improvement Track and report key workforce metrics including hiring, turnover, absenteeism, and training completion. Recommend and implement process improvements across HR and administrative functions. Support HRIS, payroll, and business systems administration. What We're Looking For 5–10 years of progressive HR and administrative experience. Experience working independently as the primary HR resource for an organization. Construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other project‑based industry experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, employee relations, payroll support, and compliance. Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Kronos and Sage experience is a plus). Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certifications are preferred. Why This Role?
